This weekend the Livable Cities team joined with the High Line Canal Conservancy and our sub-consulting design partners, Agency Landscape + Planning and Sasaki Associates, to celebrate the completion of the High Line Canal Framework Plan.

The High Line Canal is a unique, 71-mile long corridor that celebrates the region’s historical engineering ingenuity, significant environmental assets and varied natural landscapes. Weaving through multiple neighborhoods, commercial nodes and valued recreational amenities, the High Line Canal provides a well-defined and highly traveled route starting from the mouth of Waterton Canyon all the way north to Green Valley Ranch and Aurora.

The Framework Plan is a 10-20 year implementation plan that will guide future investments for the 11 jurisdictions along the Canal. The project took five years to develop and thoroughly incorporated the community and the regional partners along the corridor. The plan established a much-needed path for public and future investment and also creates invaluable design standards to guide that investment for many years to come.
