Downtown 2032 – The Path Forward provides a roadmap for citywide decision-making and strengthening Downtown’s role as the heart of the region. As part of the project team, Livable Cities Studio worked with the City of Greeley and the Downtown Development Authority to create the roadmap that will guide Downtown investments and improvements for the next decade.
Livable Cities Studio led the urban design, public realm, and capital improvement analysis of Downtown Greeley’s streets and public realm. Our team developed recommendations for the physical framework and public spaces to enhance user experience for residents, visitors, and students.
The plan seeks to reinforce the historic role of Downtown and builds on recent public and private investments by strengthening the identity of three sub-areas. This is recommended through new public realm improvements, enhancing the connection to Northern Colorado University and its students, linking to the surrounding neighborhoods, and supporting investment in new housing and businesses to make Downtown more vibrant and diverse.
