Job Description

Livable Cities Studio is looking for a full-time urban designer or planner with 1-4 years of experience to join a growing team on a variety of urban design, planning and landscape architecture projects focused on the planning and design of neighborhoods, streetscapes, urban parks, and plazas. Their primary responsibility will be to work with the office on all components of the projects, including mobility planning, design guidelines, urban design & planning, public engagement, conceptual design, project team and client interaction. Versatility and willingness to be flexible and take on a variety of tasks is essential. Our ideal applicant would be invested in public projects, high-energy, organized, collaborative and outgoing with excellent communication, planning and design skills, and some combination of experience with urban design and planning of public plazas, parks, streetscapes, and site design.  

Responsibilities

  • Exceptional level of landscape architecture and urban design expertise and proficiency in analyzing and developing design and planning concepts

  • Exceptional and proficiency in mobility, park, and land use planning, including GIS mapping and analysis and preparing published documents and reports

  • Experience and proficiency in developing planning and design concepts related to transportation and mobility, parks, public realm, downtowns, social equity and urban neighborhoods

  • Experience participating in public engagement processes with communities and stakeholders

  • Strong writing, organizational, communication skills, and experience coordinating work with internal and external teams

  • Desire to work in collaborative teams and previous experience with interdisciplinary design and planning efforts

  • Experience in GIS, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up or other 3D applications and Adobe Creative Suite

Applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a combined degree. Individuals with dual degrees in both landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, or planning are strongly encouraged to apply. A minimum of 1 years working in an office environment is required. Bilingual highly desired.
