Livable Cities Studio collaborated with the Cities of Edgewater and Lakewood to develop an updated master plan and vision for the future of Walker-Branch Park. The park spans the municipalities of Edgewater and Lakewood, creating a unique opportunity to address the complex recreation needs of the two adjacent communities. Community input through various outreach strategies and efforts served as a key driver in developing the recommendations of the master plan. Livable Cities Studio hosted public open house events and facilitated multiple online surveys to reach the park’s users and the surrounding community. The recommendations take a comprehensive approach to improving the park, and cover aspects such as circulation, health, recreation amenities, culture & art. Livable Cities Studio’s community-centric design approach ensured that the community’s voice was heard, helping shape the recommended improvements for each of these aspects. |
