Landscape Architect: 9-12 years of experience

Livable Cities Studio is looking for a full-time landscape architect and project manager with 9-12 years of experience to join a growing team on a variety of urban design and landscape architecture projects including the planning and design of neighborhoods, streetscapes, plazas, stormwater management and water quality, parks, trails and greenways. Our ideal applicant is invested in public work, has a passion for design from concept to completion, has positive energy, drive, passion, is organized, collaborative and is an excellent communicator.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects from master planning to site design and construction including management of subconsultants and internal project teams.
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously and work cooperatively internal teams and with studio principals to ensure design integrity and product consistency.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget. Adept in project planning (fiscal, staffing, workflow), fulfillment of contracted responsibilities, identification of out-of-scope items, and documentation.
  • Develop course correction measures and creative solutions to budget or schedule problems, and help junior staff become more productive and efficient at work tasks.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff on all aspects of design and planning projects.
  • Develop content needed for successful community engagement, summarize feedback and revise design work based on feedback
  • Ensure quality control in all aspects of project delivery, from design documentation, construction administration and graphic development.
  • Provide quality review of project products, as well as serve as a quality reviewer for other staff projects.
  • Responsible for thoroughness, completeness, and accuracy of the staff team’s work. Direct the work of junior staff (delegation, provision of constructive feedback).
  • Conduct construction observation on projects, including submittals, site visits, and field reports.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts. Ability to develop project scopes and budgets, prepare proposals, and participate in interviews
  • Engage in professional organizations and thought-leadership opportunities
  • Provide leadership of projects, including conceptualization of design/implementation problems, and technical direction of the work of staff and subconsultants.

 

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited landscape architecture, planning, or urban design program.
  • 9-12 years proven work experience in a design firm environment.
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Denver area.
  • Landscape Architecture licensure in good standing.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing project teams and consultants and 4+ completed built projects.
  • Professional communications skills and ability to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional level of design expertise and proficiency in developing design content in the areas of parks, streetscapes and public realm projects, including all phases of design and construction.
  • Experience with applied green infrastructure design, ecologically-based design and planting solutions, and best practices.
  • Proven interdisciplinary project and management experience including managing projects and tasks, schedule, budget, external consultant teams, internal team delegation and direction of work
  • Strong graphic capabilities (analogue and digital).
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up or other 3D applications and Adobe Creative Suite
