Summer Intern

Livable Cities Studio is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-oriented summer intern. The position will provide an opportunity to collaborate in a creative studio environment, be fully integrated into our project teams, and assist on all aspects of our work.

What the experience offers:

  • Exposure to a fun and creative studio environment with an opportunity for professional mentorship.
  • Development of design, planning, critical thinking, and graphic communication skills through your participation on dynamic and complicated public sector projects.
  • Participation in creative reviews and contributing to design, planning, and outreach efforts on various projects.
  • Establishing relationships and building a professional network with fellow professionals and colleagues.
  • Production of design material and involvement in projects as early career-building step and to strengthen your resume and portfolio.

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • Individuals with research, analysis, graphic, visual communication, and production skills with some level of proficiency in Adobe Suite, SketchUp, 3D visualization programs, as well as some familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, and willingness to contribute to a collaborative culture is a must.

Who can apply:

  • Students who are in the process of completing their degree within the next 18 months in landscape architecture, urban design, or planning. Individuals pursuing dual degrees in both landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, or planning are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Students who have recently completed their degree are able to apply as well.

Position Details

The exact dates of the internship are flexible but generally runs June 2024 – August 2024. This is a part time 20-24 hours a week paid internship. Weekly schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. This position is not benefits eligible.
